Atacan Yucesoy, PhD

Dr. Yucesoy earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University in 2024. He conducted computational research to understand the mechanical response of soft tissues under large deformations, specifically focusing on the physical injury mechanisms observed in traumatic brain injuries and the effects of mechanical intrinsic factors induced during brain morphogenesis on brain dynamics. His expertise includes finite element modeling for a variety of applications such as fluid-structure interactions, blast and impact modeling, growth mechanics of soft tissues, and deformation of biological soft tissues.
