Dr. DiCesare has 15 years of experience evaluating human health and performance across the lifespan, with broad experience and expertise in applied biomechanical analysis and data science for the purposes of injury prevention and performance enhancement. He has specific expertise in the development, verification, validation, and deployment of targeted computational approaches that operate at scale for health monitoring, diagnosis, injury risk stratification, and preventative and therapeutic rehabilitation.
Prior to joining Biocore, Dr. DiCesare was a Managing Scientist in Biomechanics at Exponent Inc., a global scientific and engineering consulting firm, where he advised clients in consumer fitness and digital health on human performance data management and analytics strategy, including the design and execution of real-world human research studies, modeling and analysis of human behavior, and the application of artificial intelligence/machine learning to human-facing products and research problems.
Before Exponent, Dr. DiCesare was a Research Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan and a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Division of Sports Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Mount St. Joseph University, Xavier University, and the University of Michigan. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
