Jason R. Kerrigan, PhD

Dr. Jason Kerrigan joined Biocore LLC as Chief Scientist in 2025 after 22 years at the University of Virginia, where he most recently served as the Commonwealth Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Director of the Center for Applied Biomechanics.  Jason, who is now Senior Vice President and Biocore Chief Scientist at Exos x Biocore, is an expert in injury biomechanics and the application of systems-based approaches to drive injury prevention.  He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles, executed an externally funded academic research program exceeding $12M in expenditures, advised 18 graduate students, assisted 32 more in pursuit of MS and PhD degrees, and taught nearly 1000 students in the classroom and laboratory.  At Exos x Biocore, he leads the Biocore team in tech-forward approaches to injury prevention in elite sports.  Biocore leverages biomechanics, statistics, machine learning, computer vision including markerless motion capture, mechanical characterization, musculoskeletal multibody dynamics, and human body finite element modeling to influence league-level policy and rules, spark innovation in the safety product industry, and drive interventions.
