Matt Wood

Matt brings a multidisciplinary background in biomechanics and product safety to Biocore’s Helmets team. Prior to joining Biocore, he worked at the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab, where he collaborated with researchers, companies, and communities around the world to advance head protection across a wide range of sports and activities. His work included evaluating instrumented mouthguards, Nerf toys, and helmets used in rugby, snow sports, and equestrian disciplines. Through rigorous testing and data-driven analysis, he helped guide the development of safer products and contributed to rating systems that influence the next generation of protective gear. At Biocore, Matt continues to apply his expertise to improve helmet safety and performance through cutting-edge research and engineering.
